Benedict received the gift while visiting a rehabilitation center for the physically and mentally handicapped run by the Catholic church for people of all religions.
He was greeted by hundreds of young people that sang to him in Arabic and Italian

There are some 110,000 Catholics in Jordan, a mere 2% of the country’s population. Though Jordan is officially an Islamic country, Christmas is observed as a holiday.
