"This ordination signifies, above all, the response of a few men who have been invited by Jesus Christ to love, and to give their lives. That’s why it represents a moment of a blessing from God, a big joy".

Juan Gerardo Cabrera
Deacon
"For me it’s a big day. Today I’ve received a great gift from God, undeserved, surely. But I think I was called to this, to help people, serve them, to help them become saints, and to help them reach the goal in life of sainthood and get to heaven".

Javier González
Deacon

"It’s a very emotional moment, a very important moment in my life after 13 years of formation. It’s an exciting moment".

The new deacons will now start preparing for their priestly ordination set for December. Then they will be sent to 22 countries where the religious Order is present.

The Legionaries of Christ has some 800 priests and 2,600 seminarians. That’s why the Year for Priests has a special meaning to them.

"The best initiatives are prayer and living a life of charity, not so much in giving things, which is important, but giving our hearts and our lives. Being a key so that other people can discover that God loves them and so that we are able to rejoice in the heart of Christ".

The charisma of the Legionaries of Christ is shared by the apostolic movement Regnum Christi, counting mostly laymen and women, along with deacons and priests, and adding up to 75,000 members in more than 30 countries.
