Pope Francis: No people is criminal and no religion is terrorist

February 17, 2017. Pope Francis has sent an important message to the Meetings of Popular Movements that is taking place in Modesto (California). The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

Pope’s 2010 outlook: “A good year...if we work with the grace of God”

2010-01-04

During the Angelus, the Pope renewed his best wishes for the new year and predicted 2010 will be “more or less good” to the extent that each person, in accordance with their responsibilities, is able to work with the grace of God.

Benedict XVI
“As we continue to rejoice in the birth of Christ our Saviour, let us pray for the grace to live through love in his presence. Thus, like John the Baptist in today’s Gospel, we can be witnesses to the light that enlightens the whole of creation. Upon each of you and your loved ones at home, I invoke God’s abundant blessings!”

The pope also stressed that although there are problems “within the church and inside families,” hope doesn’t rely on improbable predictions or economic forecasts. He says our hope is in God.

He also encouraged all to look to the Virgin Mary for her spiritual guidance and said may She help us accept God’s will with humility and courage so that even life’s trials can bring justice and peace to the world.
