Currently the council is getting ready to publish a guide intended to prepare young people for marriage.

Benedict XVI recalled that preparation begins in adolescence, when parents teach children to understand life as a vocation to love. According to Benedict XVI parents should stress the meaning of sexuality should be integrated into authentic love.

Then while dating another type of training is needed.

“It is important to take particular care that on these occasions the fiancées revive their personal relationship with the Lord Jesus, especially by listening to the Word of God, using the Sacraments and, above all, by participating in the Eucharist.”

The pope also stressed the formation engaged couples received during the months leading up to the wedding ceremony.

Benedict XVI also talked about children’s care. He recalled that kids need to feel loved and respected by both a father and mother who love each other. He added that the best way to protect children’s rights is by supportive parents who form a stable family.
