Pope Francis: No people is criminal and no religion is terrorist

February 17, 2017. Pope Francis has sent an important message to the Meetings of Popular Movements that is taking place in Modesto (California). The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

Cardinal Ouellet: Friendship is the most important thing for the family

2010-04-07

Lowering this percentage presents a challenge for which Cardinal Marc Ouellet, from Quebec, Canada, has a clear solution.

Cardinal Marc Ouellet
“The first challenge for the family is to keep the unity of the couple. Unity, blessed by God. The message of the Church is the uni the couple lives is as a gift from God and a promise for the future.”

In addition to analyzing the situation, Cardinal Ouellet encouraged parents to pass Christian faith onto their children, but always respecting their freedom.

Cardinal Marc Ouellet
“Passing faith onto children is very important. It is much harder in a secularized society because of the provocations that come from a culture separated from Christianity. It is necessary to educate children on faith, respecting their freedom but strongly proposing faith.”

With the difficult homework Cardinal Ouellet presented to parents, the need of support in order to achieve this is clear.

Cardinal Marc Ouellet
“The gift of  unity, of fraternity, of friendship. Not just because we have the same blood.”

A recipe the pope already proposed at the World Meeting of Families in Valencia in 2006 and which will be revisited at the meeting in Milan in 2012. A recipe for maintaining marriages and keeping families united, in spite of the problems.
