Pope sends condolences for victims of Turkish cargo jet crash

January 16, 2017. On Monday morning, a Turkish cargo plane has tragically crashed in Kyrgyzstan, killing dozens and hospitalizing many others. Many homes and vehicles in the small village are also destroyed. According to tradition, the chalice Jesus Christ used during the Last Supper is conserved in Valencia. John Paul II and Benedict XVI have used it in ceremonies they presided over in the Spanish city.

“The real Holy Grail, is only the piece on the inside. This is sort of like a safe they’ve made to preserve it and to be able to display it.”

It’s been several years since workers here contacted a goldsmith in Valencia who crafts replicas of the chalice. Since then they’re shipped to this store and sold world wide.
