The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. Pope explains relationship between faith and reason to International Theological Commission

2010-12-03

“Anyone who has discovered in Christ the love of  God, infused by the Holy Spirit in our hearts, wants to better understand that love and that which loves him. Knowledge and love maintain one another.”

Currently the International Theological Commission is considering three topics: “The methodology of theology,” “The question of the one God for all three monotheistic religions,” and “Social Doctrine of the Church in the context of Christian Doctrine.”

The International Theological Commission was created after the Second Vatican Council, which was very important in the collaboration between theologians and bishops.

Joseph Ratzinger, who was then a professor of theology in Germany, was one of the first members of this group of experts.
