Pope sends condolences for victims of Turkish cargo jet crash

January 16, 2017. On Monday morning, a Turkish cargo plane has tragically crashed in Kyrgyzstan, killing dozens and hospitalizing many others. Many homes and vehicles in the small village are also destroyed. As a result, Vatican Secretary of State, Pietro Parolin has sent a message of condolences to the victims of the disaster on behalf of Pope Francis.

Revisions have been made to the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People that would bring it up to Vatican standards by specifically addressing child pornography as a crime against Church law. 

There will also be a presentation for the defense of marriage efforts by the U.S. Conference of Bishops. 

Cardinal Wuerl from Washington will also make a presentation on the progress of the Ordinartiate being established to welcome Anglicans to the Catholic faith.  

The conference will also include votes on two liturgical items and their Spanish translation and a collection of Mass prayers for major patronal feasts from Spanish speaking countries.
