Angelus: Best medicine is faith in God

2012-02-06

Benedict XVI
“Illnesses are a sign of evil actions in the world and in man, while the recoveries show that the Kingdom of God, God is near.”

The pope also noted recent progress in medicine to combat disease. He said while new medications have helped to fight different diseases, the best form of help is faith in a higher power.

Benedict XVI
“Medicine in recent decades has made great strides, and we are grateful - but the Word of God teaches us that there is a decisive attitude and background to tackle the disease and is by faith in God, in His goodness.”

Those attending the Angelus were forced to brave the snow and ice, after the biggest snowstorm to hit Rome since 1985.
