Holy See confirms investigation of Order of Malta

Process of beatification begins for Luigi Giussani, founder of Communion and Liberation


When he died seven years ago, the then Cardinal Ratzinger attended his funeral as a representative of Pope John Paul II.

Yesterday was the first step in the process of beatification: Communion and Liberation formally asked the Archbishop of Milan to open the process of investigating the life, virtues and holiness of Monsignor Giussani.

In the coming months there will most likely be an official opening of the process to show that he was a saint.
During his life, Luigi Giussani proposed living Christianity as a personal encounter with God. He also proposed to do so through art, music and literature as a way to Heaven.
