“Letter to Priests” The message Cardinal Piacenza sends to priests from all over the world

In the letter, Cardinal Piacenza  reminds priests,  that to be saints one must seek the holiness of other people. The process itself, is something that must be worked at on a daily basis.

He also talks about priests who have been  “personally and profoundly afflicted by the sins of some of our brothers.” He goes on to say that   “a dark shadow of suspicion is cast over all the other fine priests who perform their ministry with honesty and integrity and often with heroic self-sacrifice.”

The letter also talks about the Year of Faith, which begins in October 2012. He calls on priests to reflect on the importance of why the Second Vatican Council was so important for the Church. Also, about Catechism as a tool for teaching the faith, and last but not least, he talked about the next Synod of the New Evangelization.
