Holy See confirms investigation of Order of Malta

He has served as the Pope's personal steward since 2006. Born in Rome 42 years ago, he is married with children. He accompanies the Pope in his car on his travels. He also attends the Pope's table during meals and works with domestic service.

It seems that the police have searched his house near the Vatican and found "a large number of confidential documents” relating to the Pope. He will be questioned as to why the documents were in his house, if he delivered any to the press and whether he was acting alone or taking orders from others.
