The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

The Pope to the Colombian bishops: Protect the family, youth and priests

2012-09-10

BENEDICT XVI
“In this regard, the tireless defense y promotion of the family institution remains a pastoral priority for you. So in the midst of difficulties, I suggest you do not go back in your efforts and continue to proclaim the whole truth about the family, founded on marriage as a domestic Church and a sanctuary of life.”

Benedict XVI congratulated the Colombian bishops on the success of their dioceses. He said they should care for priests and consecrated persons so they may continue to effectively transmit the Gospel message.

BENEDICT XVI
"Give them the attention they need in their spiritual, intellectual and material lives. So that they can live their ministry faithfully and fruitfully. And if needed, offer them a clearer guidance and charitable correction. But above all, be a life model by dedicating yourself to Christ.”

The Pope asked the bishops to take care of young ministries. Especially because they are important for young people to avoid getting side-tracked by distractions.
