American Bishops organize pilgrimage for 'life and liberty'


The pilgrimage will take off from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, which is just a short distance from the White House. The event comes after sharp disagreement between American Bishops and president Obama's health care mandate.

The October 14th  launch will also include a midday Mass, where the homily is reportedly inspired by a phrase of Thomas Jefferson, which reads: "The God who gave us life, gave us liberty.”
