"The presentation of these documents coincides with the 100th anniversary of his birth. It also coincides with the Synod of bishops. This is truly exceptional because John Paul I is really a model for all bishops of the Church.”

For someone to be declared a saint, they must first be declared a Servant of God, then Venerable. Thirdly a Blessed and then, with the approval of the Pope, a saint. "Cardinal Angelo Amato responded this way: We do not set the time, but what we can do, is use this time as a period of grace. A time dedicated to prayer, so we can communicate the life of the person we are promoting to the altars.”

Among the documentation presented to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, is material on a potential miracle, attributed to the intercession of John Paul I. It's the case of a Italian man who was inexplicably cured of stomach cancer.
