"I also would like to stress the message. In many parts of message, we find a humble, a very humble Church. But it also admits it shares the wounds of society. This is not pessimism. It's encouraging to have a Church that speaks the language of the people.”

The Archbishop of Manila also talked about the positive and optimistic attitudes reflected in the Synod. He said it's not because they're in denial or because they don't recognize the challenges of the Church. Instead it's because they have hope and faith that the New Evangelization can be carried out.

On Sunday, Benedict XVI will officially close the Synod on the New Evangelization with a Mass in St. Peter's Square. He will then begin to write a document that summarizes all the main points and conclusions of the Synod.
