Pope Francis: No people is criminal and no religion is terrorist

February 17, 2017. Pope Francis has sent an important message to the Meetings of Popular Movements that is taking place in Modesto (California). The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

Pope's Angelus: Loving God means loving our neighbors

2012-11-05

BENEDICT XVI
"From God we learn to want only the good and never the bad. We learn to look at each other not only with our eyes, but with the eyes of God, which is the gaze of Jesus Christ.”

From early on, even children have an understanding of love, said the Pope. Just as parents love their children, despite their flaws, God too, loves His children.

BENEDICT XVI
"The father and mother do not love their children only when they deserve love: they love them always, though of course, they make them understand when they are wrong.”

Visually, the Pope said God's love is reflected on the Cross. It's both vertical and horizontal, yet  it represents one, inseparable unit. That's exactly the message of the Passion of Jesus: loving both God and humanity go together.

BENEDICT XVI
"Jesus teaches us that those who love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind and strength are not far from the Kingdom. Let us love in this way and our neighbor as ourselves.”

Towards the end, the Pope called on the Virgin Mary to intercede, so that all Christians can be a true witness of love, with both words and actions.
