Vatican Chirstmas tree lit up at St. Peter's Square


The Christmas tree was a gift to the Pope and the Vatican from the region of Molise, in central Italy.

Leaders and townspeople from Pescopennataro, a small town in Molise, were on hand for the illumination ceremony and were visibly excited. 

The band from the Vatican Gendarmerie played several carols, accompanied by several chorus from the town of Pescopennataro, to celebrate that their region is at heart of Christianity for this year's Christmas celebration.
