The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

Pope names a Special Envoy for Medjugorje

< style> February 11, 2017. Pope Francis has asked Henryk Hoser, S.A.C., bishop of Warsaw-Prague (Poland), to go to Medjugorje as Special Envoy of the Holy See. According< g> the Vatican, "the mission has the aim of acquiring a deeper knowledge of the pastoral situation there and above all, of the needs of the faithful who go there in pilgrimage, and on the basis of this, to suggest possible pastoral initiatives for the future”.

Singing nuns: from the monastery to a record deal

This group of sisters rarely steps foot outside their monastery, but their quickly gaining world wide recognition, through song.

“The day truly revolves around the divine office, we chant seven times a day and once in the night, the grand chant. The ancient chant of the Church.”

It is their love of God though music that caught the attention of record producers.
 
In addition to prayer, these Benedictine sisters are often found working on vestments for priests, or tending to their garden.

But for three days, their monastery became a recording studio.

“we are always singing so it was just natural that we make a CD so that we could give something of our lives to people out in the world.”

The final product is a full feature album, featuring 16 hymns, and available now to the public.

Proceeds will help them continue their service to God. But even more importantly, it will help them build a more permanent home, and continue their worship trough song.
