“She has a severe form of autism. She is blind and deaf. She communicates with those closes to her through her body language, and through her designs, which are beautiful.”

She began by painting portraits of her classmates at a school for the deaf. Now, her paintings depict images such as Joseph and Mary fleeing Egypt, the birth of Jesus in a manger, his baptism at the River Jordan, him washing his disciples feet, and the Last Supper.

With the help from the Community of St. Egidio in Rome, Marianna Caprioletti has exhibited her work, allowing her to overcome her challenges and speak to the public, without a word or sound.
