Reactions to Wednesday's morning Conclave vote


"My reaction was a little bit disappointed, you know, because if the new Pope were elected that would be cool. And also I would be able to visit the Sistine Chapel.”

"I'm a little bit disappointed, because obviously I was expecting white smoke.”

"Yeah, we where hoping to see white smoke, but unfortunately it came out black.”

As people wait to find out who is elected Pope, they talk amongst themselves about what characteristics the next Pope should have.  

"I hope he's from Latin America and I hope he brings us peace, because the world needs it.”

"I guess I just want someone that is more progressive than Pope Benedict was.”

"I hope the next Pop has the charisma John Paul II had a firm personality like that of Ratzinger.”

Cardinal electors will meet once again at around 4pm Rome time. The next time smoke will come out of the Sistine Chapel will be between 5 and 7pm.
