Hundreds of volunteers helped at the Pope’s First Mass in St. Peter’s Square

"We got up at three in the morning to come from Tivoli, near Rome. At five thirty we met in the welcoming points in order to get these vests and check that everything is ready.”

Their main task was to answer people's questions, help direct them to the Square, and at times, even help someone immortalize that moment.

"It is always great to be a volunteer in these occasions, it brings you more joy to give than to receive.”

Each volunteer wore not only the vest with the words "Year of the Faith,” but also a warm smile. They helped thousands of pilgrims have an unforgettable experience at St. Peter’s Square.
