Pope sends condolences for victims of Turkish cargo jet crash

January 16, 2017. On Monday morning, a Turkish cargo plane has tragically crashed in Kyrgyzstan, killing dozens and hospitalizing many others. Many homes and vehicles in the small village are also destroyed. "At this time, a special moment, I would like to offer a prayer for the numerous victims of the tragic collapse of a factory in Bangladesh. I express my solidarity and deepest sympathy to the families who mourn their loved ones and from my heart I deliver a strong appeal that the dignity and safety of the worker will always be protected.”

The Pope's Regina Coeli prayer at St. Peter's Square followed the Confirmation ceremony for 44 young people from all across the world, as nearly 100 thousand pilgrims looked on.
