Pope greets pro-life marchers, calls for the legal protection of the unborn

2013-05-13

The Pope thanked them for their work and called on them to continue protecting the unborn.

POPE FRANCIS
"It brings me great joy to see that so many Italian parishes are taking part in the pro-life signature campaign. This initiative titled 'One of Us,' guarantees the legal protection of the embryo, protecting human life from the very start.”

In mid June, the Vatican is organizing a pro-life event. So, the Pope encouraged the crowd to get ready for the two day gathering.

POPE FRANCIS
"It will be a special moment for those who take the defense of human life and its sacredness seriously. The 'Evangelium Vitae Day' will be held here in the Vatican as part of the Year of Faith, on June 15th and 16th.”

Afterward, the Pope made his way through the Square in the popemobile to greet the crowds. He even went beyond the Vatican border into Italian territory where crowds lined the streets. As the Pope greeted pilgrims from the Pro-life movement he made it a point to greet children and the sick.
