Pope: Pray for priests and bishops, so we can be good shepherds and not wolves

2013-05-15

POPE FRANCIS
“Read this beautiful text and as you read it, pray for us, for bishops and priests. We need prayers to stay loyal to our calling. To be men who can watch over their flock and ourselves. To truly to do this...so that their hearts will always run towards their flock. Also pray that the Lord can keep us from temptations, because if we follow a path of wealth, if we follow a path of vanity, we become wolves and not shepherds.”

The Pope then made a reference to a reading from St. Paul, where he calls Christians to be vigilant and instruments of the Holy Spirit.
