Pope Francis: No people is criminal and no religion is terrorist

February 17, 2017. Pope Francis has sent an important message to the Meetings of Popular Movements that is taking place in Modesto (California). The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

Ambassador of Costa Rica to the Holy See
"So the Pope told me, 'we're not finished yet.' He grabbed my  hand and told me 'please pray for me. Not just you, but your entire country as well.' So I responded and made a commitment.  I said 'Holy Father I will pass on this request and rest assured we will always pray for you.'”

Ambassador Sanchez Campos didn't waste any time. Just two months after that meeting, more than 30,000 people will get together at Costa Rica's National Stadium to pray for the Pope, as they all celebrate Pentecost.

Ambassador of Costa Rica to the Holy See
"We will have a procession with the Eucharist and then we will pray the rosary and celebrate Mass. Bishops and even the apostolic nuncio will also be there. We will pray for the sick and listen to music with a Catholic message...It's going to be a great Pentecost feast and the title of this beautiful event is "Holy Spirit, thank you for Pope Francis.”

The event itself was promoted by an association called 'Obras del Espiritu Santo,' which translates to 'Works of the Holy Spirit.' As part of its mission, the association helps the needy in Costa Rica and Nicaragua.
