Pope receives jersey from an NBA team and from Italy's 'Lazio' and 'Roma' soccer teams

2013-05-22

The Pope received a personalized jersey from each team. It turns out the president of the 'Roma' soccer team, James Pallotta, is also the president of the NBA's Boston Celtics, so of course the Pope also received a jersey from that basketball team. The player who was chosen to give Pope Francis a Roma soccer jersey was none other than star player, Francesco Totti.

The president of the Lazio team, Claudio Lotito, gave the Pope an image of the team's logo, and he asked the Pope to bless a rosary. French player Louis Saha, was in charge of giving the Pope the Lazio team jersey. Slowly but surely, it seems like the Pope is now starting his own personal sports collection.
