The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

Pope names a Special Envoy for Medjugorje

Evangelium Vitae: Pope to celebrate Mass in St. Peter's Square to highlight the value of life

The Sunday Mass will begin at 10: 30a.m. On Saturday, catechism will be offered in different Roman parishes, located near the Vatican. The events also include, a pilgrimage to the tomb of St. Peter and a prayer vigil in St. Peter's Square.

The Vatican is expecting thousands of people from all over the world, including the U.S, Italy, Germany, Japan, Hungary, Romania and Spain, among other countries. It will be a massive gathering where individuals and families will come together, with the Pope, to defend the dignity of life.
