Cardinal Godfried Danneels turns 80. Number of Cardinal electors drops to 112

Belgian Cardinal, Godfried Danneels, will turn 80 years old on June 4th. At that age, the archbishop emeritus of Brussels will lose the right to vote in an eventual conclave. 

The Cardinal was born in Kanegemen and is the eldest of six siblings. He was ordained at the age of 24 and over the years his academic worked focused on the study of the liturgy. In fact, he authored several articles on that very topic. 

With the birthday of Cardinal Danneels, the number of cardinal electors drops to 112. The number of non cardinal electors is 93. The total number of cardinals is 205.
