Pope Francis: No people is criminal and no religion is terrorist

February 17, 2017. Pope Francis has sent an important message to the Meetings of Popular Movements that is taking place in Modesto (California). The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

The 'Children's Train': Bearing the summer heat to see the Pope

-Hello everybody, welcome! What time did you leave?
-At 5.30! At 4.30!

-Was it a long trip? Was it boring?

-So, it wasn't boring. Thank you for your visit. I am so happy you are here. Are you happy?

The 'Children's Train' was organized by the Pontifical Council for Culture. Children between the ages of 6 and 12 with social or family problems had a unique opportunity to share their experiences, travel on a fun journey and last but not least, have a special meeting with the Pope. Some of them were in Rome for the first time.

-What will you do next? What is your plan for the day?

-We are going to visit this wonderful place. We will be embraced by the colonnade in St. Peter's Square; each column will be like a child embracing us. And we will cling to them. Then we are going to visit the Basilica, which has all of our history. There will be music. You are in our hearts. And our hearts are with you. We will leave at 4PM. Do you want to come on the train with us? There are children from the Bambin Gesù hospital who have made colored drapes to unite to the rail tracks of our train of love.

-That's very nice. I wish you a good day. But it will be quite hot? Does the heat bother you?
-No, if we get to meet you!
-Thank you. Have a wonderful day.

The event was part of the so-called 'Courtyard of Children', which is aimed at helping children with social or family problems, by organizing fun and educational experiences.
