May 23, 2017. After the deadly terrorist attack at Victoria Station in Manchester, England, the pope has sent his condolences to the victims and their families.

Pope Francis is   on his way toBrazil! He arrived to Romes Fiumicino airport   by  helicopter, before departing on the 12 hour flight, at roughly 8: 45 a.m,  Rome time. 

Among the different religious and political leaders who greeted the Pope before his departure, was Italy's prime minister, Enrico Letta. 

The Pope boarded the flight, carrying his personal black briefcase. This trip to  Rio de Janeiro, marks his first international trip as Pontiff. Once in Brazil, he will lead World Youth Day.
