Holy See confirms investigation of Order of Malta

Pope sends condolences for victims of Turkish cargo jet crash

Many homes and vehicles in the small village are also destroyed. As a result, Vatican Secretary of State, Pietro Parolin has sent a message of condolences to the victims of the disaster on behalf of Pope Francis.

Pope Francis arrives to Copacabana Beach. Briefly wears Sombrero and plays drums


Pope Francis was  greeted by over 1 million youths in Rios Copacabana beach, before leading  Saturdays World Youth Day prayer vigil.

As he made his way through the city's coastline in the popemobile, the Pope made a few stops to greet pilgrims and bless children. He also briefly wore a Mexican sombrero that was given to him by a pilgrim, and a few minutes later he playfully prayed some drums with this hands.

The vigil was originally set to take place in the city's Campus Fidei Guaratiba open air field, but due to the heavy rains, it was moved to Copacabana beach.
