More than 1600 catechists from every corner of the world, got to see Pope Francis at the Vaticans Paul VI Hall. The group made their way to Rome to greet Pope Francis as part of the Year of Faith.
Despite having a prepared speech, the Pope improvised quite a bit during the Friday meeting. He explained that to be a good catechist, there are three main points one should follow. The first is to be familiar with Jesus, the second is to imitate Christ, which means reaching out to others to share the Gospel. Lastly, he said one cannot be afraid of going beyond one's comfort zone.
The Pope also explained that being a catechist is a true vocation. He said it's not just about a job that gets done, but rather it's a vocation that becomes part of one's being.
