A 'papal hat' too big for the Pope

This time Pope Francis couldn't exchange his papal hat with a young man who offered him a new one during his visit to Assisi. It was too big. It's becoming a new tradition. Every time someone gives the Pope a new papal hat, he exchanges it for the one hes wearing at the moment.

Last April, an American couple gave him one, but the Cardinal who had introduced them kindly told them that it couldn't be done. But the Pope immediately grabbed their 'papal hat' and gave them his.

That image traveled the world, and ever since then, many people have done the same. Unfortunately, this time around, the hat was just too big, and the Pope had to give it back.
