Pope Francis welcomed Guy Ryder, the General-Director for the International Labour Organization, on Monday morning at the Vatican.
"Lets speak in Spanish.”
Ryder was joined by two officials from the organization. The ILO is a United Nations specialized agency that looks after workers rights, and promotes social justice.
The two leaders addressed these topics. The Pope has also frequently spoken out about the right to work, and for workers to earn a living with dignity. The Pope shared his admiration for the work the ILO does on behalf of workers.
-Thank you, Your Holiness.
-Pray for me, and thank you for what you do. I am very pleased to have met you.
-Our thoughts are in tune.
-I believe so.
