(-VIDEO ONLY-) The ambassador of the Republic of Korea (South Korea) to the Holy See, Francisco Kyung-surk Kim, presented his credentials on Monday morning to Pope Francis.
The two countries established diplomatic ties in 1963. Recently, two former presidents visited Benedict XVI, in 2007 and 2009.
South Korea has one of the world's highest rates of conversion to Catholicism, even though the majority of the population is not Christian. Out of 49 million people, five million identify as Catholic.
