"I believe the Church is happy, that some many people around the world are happy, and so that's why we are also happy. The important thing is that the joy of the Gospel be present their hearts.”

The toast to a year's hard work began with the presentation of a bas-relief, an engraving of John Paul II at the entrance of the conference hall named after him.

"I sculpted the image in my own way, and I wanted the small child that hugs the Holy Father to be the disabled son of friends of mine.”

The John Paul II Hall got its name from the Pope who provided lots of news to journalists around the world, and because he revolutionized the way the Vatican communicates with the outside world.
