Pope Francis: No people is criminal and no religion is terrorist

February 17, 2017. Pope Francis has sent an important message to the Meetings of Popular Movements that is taking place in Modesto (California). The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

Pope will baptize on Sunday a group of children at the Sistine Chapel

2014-01-11

The interactions between Pope Francis and children have been among the most memorable in his time as Pope. Children also seem to have an affinity for him.

So, the celebration taking place on Sunday, could leave behind some very memorable scenes. It's a yearly tradition to mark the feast of the Baptism of the Lord.

It'll be the first time Pope Francis baptizes a group of newborns. The majority will be the children of Vatican employees. But also among them will be the son of a woman the Pope had called personally during the summer, when she wrote to him saying she had considering having an abortion.

The event will be joyful, and will take place inside the historic Sistine Chapel. Like Pope Francis told pilgrims at the General Audience this week, the baptism will welcome these children into the Church. And though they may be small now, it'll be hard for them to forget the date of their baptism.
