The cold was no obstacle for the thousands of pilgrims that gathered in St. Peter's Square to hear the Pope's Angelus.
Sunday was the feast of the Baptism of the Lord, and Pope Francis reminded everyone that it marks the beginning of time full of mercy.
"Sharing is the true way to love. Jesus is not separate from us, He considers us His brothers and shares with us. And thus, He makes us children, along with Him, of God. This is the revelation and source of true love. And this is the time of mercy!”
That same day, he baptized 32 babies in the Sistine Chapel, adding that "every child who is baptized is a miracle of the faith and a feast for the family of God.” He also greeted all parents that baptized their children.
"I pray so that every Baptism of children may help parents to discover the beauty of the faith, and to return in a new way to the Sacraments and the community.”
Pope Francis concluded by emphasizing that, Christians especially now need more brotherhood, love, and charity.
