Vatican Confirms Pope Francis to Visit Shrine of Fatima

December 17, 2016. The Vatican’s press service confirmed Saturday that Pope Francis will visit Shrine of Fatima in Portugal, from May 12 to May 13.

Pope Francis celebrated his first consistory by creating 19 cardinals. Wearing the red attire that distinguishes cardinals, they knelt before Pope Francis as he blessed them and gave them their traditional red beretta.

-Philippe Nakellentuba Ouedraogo, Archbishop of Ouagadougou, Burkina.


-Orlando Quevedo, Archbishop of Cotabato, Phillipines.


-Chibly Langlois, Bishop of Les Cayes, Haiti


-Loris Francesco Capovilla, Titular Archbishop of Mesembria (did not attend ceremony)


-Fernando Sebastian Aguillar, Archbishop Emeritus of Mesembria.


-Kevin Edward Felix, Archbishop Emeritus of Castries, West Indies.
