Pope meets with President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović


The President of the Republic of Montenegro,  Filip Vujanovi, met with Pope Francis on Thursday morning. 

During their brief meeting, they talked about Montenegro's pending integration into European institutions. 

Also discussed was the so called 'Basic Agreement.' Signed in 2011, it recognizes the legal status of the Catholic Church in the country. 

After meeting with the Pope, President  Vujanovi met with Vatican's Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin and Archbishop Dominique Mamberti, secretary for Relations with States.
