"Lent, as Pope Francis says, is a time of encounter with the Lord. It's a time of conversion and to seek out the mercy of the Lord.”

The idea came about after the success of the day of Penance the Vatican organized on March 28.

For 24 hours, hundreds of priests around the world kept their parish doors open to confess people, even Pope Francis himself took part.
