ROME REPORTS presents 'John Paul II's Smile'

Days before the canonization of John Paul II, ROME REPORTS TV News Agency presents a special collage titled "John Paul II's Smile.” It pieces together the performances that loosened up one of the busiest men in the world.

"His pontificate lasted 26 years,” the clip begins. "Throughout this time, we heard him speak dozens of languages; kiss the ground of countries all over the world; and meet with all kinds of people. We saw him hug people, we saw him stumble; we saw him fight. And thanks to this magician and this clown, we also saw him cry with laughter.

These performances, by a magician and clown, are immortalized on video. They took place year after year, on Holy Week, during the Pope's gathering with the UNIV Conference.
