Pope Francis: No people is criminal and no religion is terrorist

February 17, 2017. Pope Francis has sent an important message to the Meetings of Popular Movements that is taking place in Modesto (California). The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

AMDG Movement: Hip Hop that “brings people to God”

2014-05-30

Jesuit motto "Ad Maiorem Dei Gloriam,” translates "For the Greater Glory of God.” St. Ignatius of Loyola probably didn't expect that almost five centuries after his death, a group of Catholics Hip Hop artists would choose this mantra as their own.

The AMDG Movement works towards one goal: "creating a more complete awareness of who God is.” Their means to make that a reality is music.

Many talented, Catholic artists are featured on their site. Among them is Franciscan Fr. Stan Fortuna as well as Communion, a young seminarian from the Archdiocese of Miami who sings "iBelieve.”

The site also features the video released by singers from the Found Nation Family and El Padrecito Ministries. The song is called 'Yeah' and was filmed at the WYD 2013 in Rio.

Through its website, radio station and blog, the AMDG Movement says it wants "to bring people to God.” In their website there is also a place for reflections and spiritual texts.

This mixture of religion, music and urban life also shows up in their logo: a smiling sheep wearing a cap.
