Pope Francis: The key to our faith is the Resurrection

2014-11-03

Pope Francis celebrated a Mass in St. Peter's Basilica in honor of the cardinals and bishops who passed away in the last 12 months.

A total of ten cardinals and 111 bishops died this year in different parts of the globe.

POPE FRANCIS
"We are reminded of their faces today. But all of them, each one of them is looked upon by the Father with His merciful love.”

In his homily, the Pope explained that the key to Christian faith is found in the death and Resurrection of Jesus.

POPE FRANCIS
"There lies the answer. There is the foundation, the rock. Not in the persuasive words of wisdom, but rather in the living word of the cross and the resurrection of Jesus.”

The cardinals of the Roman Curia concelebrated the Mass with the Pope. Currently, there are 210 cardinals of which 113 are electors.
