World Meeting of Families 2015 debuts its official hymn

Preparations are underway for the upcoming World Meeting of Families, which will take place in Philadelphia on September 22-27, 2015.

The committee has now released the event's official hymn, titled "Sound the Bell of Holy Freedom.”

The lyrics were penned by Fr. Andrew Ciferni, and will be performed to the tune of PHILADELPHIA by composer Normand Gouin.

The hymn issues a call to families from around the world to gather together, and it will be performed both prior and during the World Meeting of Families.

Pope Francis has confirmed he will participate in the eighth World Meeting of Families. This will mark his first visit to the United States.
