2015-02-02

During the Angelus, Pope Francis emphasized that Jesus does not allow logistical difficulties to stop him from proclaiming the Gospel.

FRANCIS
"Jesus does not postpone the Gospel, he does not let logistics, although necessary, stop him in his small community. His main concern is to communicate the Word."

He highlighted how people were impressed with Jesus because of his teachings. They were not forced but were instead moved to change their personal lives.

FRANCIS
"The Gospel is the word of life. It does not oppress people. Rather, it frees those who are slaves to the many evil spirits of this world: vanity, financial greed, pride, sensuality ... The Gospel changes the heart."

The Day for Life was also held in Italy. Francis expressed support for pro-life associations at the end of the Angelus. He said that when one serves life, one experiences "the revolutionary power of love.
