Pope Francis is getting quite popular on Twitter. He now has over 20 million followers in his @Pontifex account. That includes all of his accounts in English, Spanish, Arabic, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese and Latin.

'Thatâ??s fantastic, really good news.â?

'I'm not surprised by his popularity. I think it's unlike any other in history. He has reached this great level of popularity because of his revolutionary spirit.â?

'I think itâ??s good that he has so much influence on the world, even though Iâ??m not into social media.â?

The most popular account is the one in Spanish, which has over 8.5 million followers. It's followed by English, which has 5.8 million.

The account was launched under the pontificate of Benedict XVI back on December 12th, 2012.
