Pope Francis: No people is criminal and no religion is terrorist

February 17, 2017. Pope Francis has sent an important message to the Meetings of Popular Movements that is taking place in Modesto (California). The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

A colorful meeting between Pope Francis and Ghanaian royalty

2015-05-29

It might have been one of the most colorful meetings that Pope Francis has had with an international leader.

Wearing his traditional royal clothing, Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II of Ghana visited Pope Francis with his family and a delegation.

The Pope spoke in English with the king's children, although they were very shy.

"What's your name?”

He is the king of Asante. The Asantes are an important ethnic group in Ghana that makes up about 20 percent of the nation's population of 25 million.

The king gave Pope Francis a book about his culture and traditions, along with a large cloth that mixes the Vatican City and Ghana flags.

In return, Pope Francis gave him a copy of Evangelii Gaudium and the medallion of his pontificate.
