Pope Francis: No people is criminal and no religion is terrorist

February 17, 2017. Pope Francis has sent an important message to the Meetings of Popular Movements that is taking place in Modesto (California). The pope denounces the "moral blindness of this indifference”: "under the guise of what is politically correct or ideologically fashionable, one looks at those who suffer without touching them. But they are televised live; they are talked about in euphemisms and with apparent tolerance, but nothing is done systematically to heal the social wounds or to confront the structures that leave so many brothers and sisters by the wayside”.

Pope Francis to children with parents in prison: Your dreams can take you far

2015-06-01

Very special passengers are riding on this train, and they have a unique destination: The Vatican.

These 600 kids are participating in the third edition of "The Train of Children.” It is an initiative organized by the Pontifical Council for Culture that's meant to help children in difficult situations. These kids all have parents who are currently incarcerated.

The Pope met with them while they were flying kites.

"Applause for the Pope.”

Afterward, they gave him gifts and spoke with him. Pope Francis was interested to find out about them.

"Are you tired from the trip?”
"No, yes.”
"And are you tired? What makes you tired from the trip? No sleep! Are you sleepy? Well, then come here and you can sleep on the carpet.”

The Pope then explained to the children that if they follow their dreams, they can go very far and can even reach Our Lady.

"With these dreams, you can go very, very far?”
"Yes!”
"How far?”
"Everywhere!”
"And can you get to God?”
"Yes!”
"And with your dreams can you pray?”
"Yes!”
"And even in your dreams can you pray to Our Lady?”
"Yes!”

The Pope also explained that dreaming opens the door to happiness. He asked them to always keep their hearts open.
